Find your best K-Cup coffee maker
When the first Keurig coffee maker came out more than 20 years ago, it changed how people made coffee forever. With a tiny pod, coffee drinkers can now make a single cup at home in minutes instead of a whole carafe. For a coffee expert, a Keurig should be able to be set to a certain brew temperature, filter the water, and have a mode that saves energy. If you want a wider range of coffee, get a model that lets you use cups from other brands. All Keurig coffee makers are easy to clean, but some are bigger so that they can be used more often.

Best Keurig coffee maker:
Keurig K-Classic Coffee Maker
This retro design concept, an oldie but a goodie, provides all of the elements that launched Keurig as a quick brew icon in the first place: an easy-to-use interface, a rapid-working heating element for piping hot coffee whenever you need it, and a reasonable price tag.
You have your coffee in less than a minute. Following that, the Keurig shuts down automatically to save you money on your energy expenses. Because the water reservoir is only 48 ounces, you'll need to replenish it every four or five cups. It also lacks the LCD display found on higher-end Keurigs. Given the limited feature set, an LCD isn't really necessary.

Pros:
- Low cost
- Quick brew
- Automatic shut-off
Cons:
- Small water reservoir
- Simple interface
Customer review:
Just me 2: “Bought this one to replace an older model that was still working but starting to have issues. We bought this a while back and it is still going strong. We have a large family and the coffee maker gets a hard workout every morning. Well worth the money I spent.”
Madison Hajek: "i was scared of the reviews. so easy to use, great coffee every day it works so well. it’s super easy to clean. it’s not that quiet or loud, you can just hear it but honestly it’s my favorite sound in the morning. so worth it. i’ve had it for a few months, zero complaints!"
Keurig K-Elite Coffee Maker
Although it lacks a milk frother, this Keurig compensates with various features, including temperature control, a programmable clock to plan a warming function, a hot water dispenser, the option to brew iced coffee, and a big 75-ounce water reservoir. The K-Elite also boasts the most serving size options, with cups ranging from 4- through 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-ounces. It even comes with a Keurig-branded water filter to help purify the tank even further.
The machine's coffee selections are highly flexible, and during testing, it brewed K-Cups faster than any other Keurig home model, with an average brew time of 34 seconds per serving.

Pros:
- Strong brew option produces wonderful coffee
- Super rapid brew times
- Timer function aids in planning future brews
- Large water reservoir
- Very adaptable
- Notifies you when it's time to clean the machine
- Brews silently
Cons:
- Flimsy drip tray
- Expensive
Customer review:
My Stuff: "Bought this to replace an older, faithful, similar unit that would no longer Descale itself. This new one works fine so far after about one hundred K-cups through it, and it might be a couple of seconds faster than my older unit when it worked correctly. My wife likes the hot water button feature on the new unit for her tea bag in a to-go cup. I do miss the blue side light on my older unit."
fn: “This is about our fifth Keurig purchase. Each time the coffee maker lasts a couple of years and then develops issues. Replaced a Keurig Classic with this K-Elite. Very happy with it so far. Is louder then every other Keurig we have had. Easy to use and straight forward in operation. Hoping to get more than 2 years out of it. Guess time will tell.”
Keurig K-Cafe Single-Serve K-Cup Coffee Maker
The K-Café can make 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-ounce coffee cups. A button for strong coffee and another for a "shot" of concentrated coffee to use as the base of cappuccino and lattes are available. It contains a retractable 60-ounce water tank and can hold a 7-inch travel cup. This machine features an iced coffee mode, which allows it to brew a stronger coffee without diluting it with ice.

Pros:
- Brews a cup in under two minutes
- Extremely simple to use frother
- Strong and shot options improve K-Cup flavor
Cons:
- Highest energy consumption of any Keurig machine tested
- Cannot brew and froth at the same time
Customer review:
Stacy S: “I bought this for myself and was nervous after reading some of the reviews. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and am impressed with how easy, fun & delicious the cappuccinos & lattes are! I need my morning coffee but sometimes an afternoon cappuccino hits the spot. Sprinkle with a little drizzle of your favorite topping or cinnamon and it’s way better (and cheaper) than any coffeehouse around. The foam comes out perfect too!”
A13G: “I absolutely love this Keurig. I love caramel macchiatos but I could never get it right with just a hand mixer or whisker plus not having the shot function on other coffee makers made it hard to get the right flavor. But this is perfect. It's so simple for me to make my own coffee drinks at home!”
Keurig K-Supreme Plus Coffee Maker
The K-Supreme Plus not only features three strength, three temperature, and five cup-size settings, but it can also save three separate sets of preferences so you can get your coffee exactly how you like it with a single button press. Its 78-ounce reservoir is larger than other models and can make a lot of coffee before needing to be replenished. It's also removable, making it simple to refill when it runs out.
It's also a hassle to clean because you have to disassemble everything and hand-wash everything. (Keurig does make special rinse pods and filters for cleaning the inside of the machine, which you must purchase from Keurig.)

Pros:
- Saves up to three people's brewing preferences
- Large, detachable reservoir
- Extremely adaptable
Cons:
- Slower brewing
- Cleaning is difficult
Customer review:
Amazon Customer: “We really have grown to like this unit even though it can get costly purchasing k-cups. The ease of function and the ability to adjust size temperature and type of drink makes this unit a great addition to entertaining company and affording a great cup of hot or cold coffee products. Would recommend to others if you are into gourmet coffees.”
debra fischer: “Love my Keurig Coffee Maker!! It makes a great cup of coffee quickly, much shorter then the 4 mins of a French press. I do at times use the strong button to extract more from the coffee grounds. Yes, there is a slight issue with splashing at times and A high-quality bag of beans from local coffee shop cheaper then making a cup of Keurig coffee from pod so I choose to use the provided refillable pod.”
Keurig Coffee Maker (Office Pro K155)
The K155 is everything and then some. It is appropriate for everyone, although it is most likely most appropriate in an office atmosphere. The sophisticated LCD touchscreen interface makes it simple to browse the K155's numerous settings and features. You get four brewing sizes, a big 90-ounce reservoir that holds (roughly) 18 cups of coffee, and a lightning-fast brew time that allows you to prepare coffee in under a minute. Coffee lovers can even choose their preferred temperature, ensuring that their coffee is just how they want it.

Pros:
- LCD interface
- Large 90-ounce water reservoir
- Temperature control
- Lightning-fast brew times
Cons:
- Pricey
Customer review:
J.J: “For years, the ladies in my office would complain about the coffee our boss would make. One day, I bought this and replaced the boss’s coffee maker and the ladies haven’t been happier. Each day they can make the coffee of their choosing. Best office purchase ever”
insurance guy: “Having used its predacessor for a number of years, I noticed the old one seeming to slip into an expected obsolescence, and retired it with the satisfaction it had done what I paid it to do with few hiccups during our affiliation. A little pricy, the new one does what I want and was easily programmed. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.”
Keurig K-Mini Coffee Maker
This Keurig is ideal for dormitories, apartments, and small kitchens! The K-Mini is about as little as you can get, but it still packs a punch. You can choose a brew size of six or twelve ounces, as well as a bold brew if that's your choice.
Aside than that, the features are quite limited. This is especially bad given that for the price of this Keurig, you could purchase one that does a lot more.
Aside from the price, it's worth noting that this is yet another noisy coffee maker.

Pros:
- Cord storage and a lightweight design make it simple to use
- A variety of color options
- Low power consumption
- Small size is ideal for saving space - Low cost
Cons:
- Produces flat-tasting coffee.
- The longest brew duration of any Keurig
Customer review:
Money L: “My first coffee maker! I was skeptical at first but I've been craving some coffee and I saw the video review, it was spot on! Definitely easy to use and is convenient for me but if you're a big coffee drinker like needs more than one cup of coffee a day then I wouldn't suggest this for you unless you like refilling the ground coffee and the water.”
SC: “My old single serve Keurig quit working after ten years or so. I grabbed this one for and just love it. I love that it takes up even less space, so easy to use, makes great coffee (also purchased a case of Peets dark roast breakfast blend at a great price), and it was delivered the next day.”
Considerations for Keurig Coffee Makers
When choosing a Keurig machine, there are a few main factors to consider.
- Functionality: While most Keurig coffee makers are meant to produce a single cup of coffee, the company has grown to offer versions with milk frothers, iced coffee settings, and other features. Consider how much water the reservoir holds, whether you prefer a strong brew, and whether you want an automatic on/off option.
- Single-Serve vs. Carafe Machines: In addition to single cups of coffee, Keurig makes machines that can prepare single-serve cups or complete carafes.
For Single-Serve Machines: Once you've decided on a single-cup brewer, the next item to consider is the size of your cup. Depending on the model, Keurig single-cup machines come in three to five sizes or custom sizing.
- Speed: Keurigs are well-known for their quickness. Whereas ancient brew methods may keep you waiting for 10 minutes (or more), the Keurig can do the task in a fraction of the time.
- Water Reservoir: The size of the water reservoir determines how easy the equipment is to use. Units with larger reservoirs will not need to be refilled as frequently, saving you time.
- Brew Temperature: A few of the Keurigs on this list let you to change the brew temperature. This allows you to control which flavors you bring out in the beans.
- Cup Size: Most Keurigs come in a variety of cup sizes. They usually have small (six ounces), regular (eight ounces—roughly the size of a typical coffee cup), and big sizes (10 ounces). In the realm of K-cups, the eight-ounce cup often gives the most flavor.
- User Interface: Some Keurig machines include LCD panels that let you to easily browse the plethora of options and modes of operation. It's not a required feature, but it makes the machine easier to use while distinguishing it from lower-end models.
Energy Saving Mode: Some Keurigs have an automatic shutoff timer that deactivates the heating element after a set period of inactivity.
